Recherche

Research interests

The overall goal of my research is to improve our knowledge of current plant biodiversity and our
understanding of the evolutionary processes that generated plant diversity. Using an integrative approach combining morphological, anatomical, ecological, geographic, and (phylo)genomic data, I study plant evolution across different spatial and temporal scales, as well as the systematic classification of angiosperms. I focus in particular on the flora of tropical Africa and on two highly
diverse plant families: the Annonaceae (Magnoliales) and the Melastomataceae (Myrtales). My research is closely linked to botanical collections, which serve as indispensable sources of data for my work.
