I am an ethologist, with a special interest in the evolution of social systems in animals. My primary research focus is to test and expand the hypothesis that different forms of sociality in animals influence their evolutionary rates. In collaboration with Frédéric Legendre (MNHN, EvoFoncT), I am currently developing a model to simulate these effects, and with Jérôme Fuchs (MNHN, SPEC), with whom we are testing these hypotheses using genetic and phylogenetic data from birds. Other collaborators on this project include Gisela Kopp (MPI, Konstanz, Germany), Hélène Morlon (IBENS, Paris), Clotilde Biard (SU, Paris), and Louise Peckre (USPN, Paris).
In parallel, I study the ecology and evolution of great and blue tits, again focusing on social behavior. Together with Emilio Barba (UV, Valencia, Spain) and Clotilde Biard (SU, Paris), I study various aspects related to mate selection, as well as responses to climate change.
I am currently in my second year as a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Frédéric Legendre and Clotilde Biard. I received my education in the Balearic Islands (bachelor’s degree in biology), earned a master’s degree in ethology from the USPN, and studied at the University of Göttingen in Germany, where I researched transitions to social life in animals during my Ph.D., including a field study (Madagascar) to understand the social system of the grey mouse lemur (Microcebus murinus).
