Research interest :
My research interest focuses on ecology and evolution of macroalgae.
My main goals are : i) to explore and assess the macro algal alpha, beta and gamma diversity by conducting comprehensive sampling strategies as well as integrative systematic approach combining morpho-anatomical and molecular characters ; ii) to investigate macroalgal communities patterns and how historical and contemporary processes, including global change, influence these patterns ; and iii) to study the history of algal herbaria with a particular interest on the spread of concepts and practices in the aim to foster diachronic studies of communities.
Kallymenia crouaniorum, a recently described species (Robuchon et al. 2014), was uncovered during the course of a survey of the understory algal flora in the kelp forest of Laminaria hyperborea (Gunnerus) Foslie in Brittany.
