Research interest

My main research interest is on describing and understanding marine habitats and marine communities’ structures and functioning to better conserve them using systematic conservation planning approaches.
For this postdoc project I am currently working on the New Caledonia deep waters species communities. This project lies within the context of the newly created Coral Sea Marine Park and a collaboration with the Agence Française des Aires Marines Protégées (AAMP). I am using the large multi-taxa species dataset gathered through the Tropical Deep Sea Benthos (TDSB) surveys in order to describe species associations at different spatial scales and to model potential habitats for some targeted species. The influence of species definition and the precision of the taxonomy for macro-ecology approaches will be discussed for some taxa thanks to the available integrative taxonomy outputs obtained in the 3E team.
